I just started a new environment. I have taken Polycounts advise and work on a small portion of a house and really crank the details. I am setting it up in Cryengine. This project will push my limits since it will be in an actual engine where I can run around in.
Being a fan of Naughty Dog and The Last Of Us I plan to recreate one of the environment in the game. I am going to make two environments out of the same project. One will be as we live to day ( pre clickers ) And one will be after all hell has broken loose. This will make a great before and after effect. Here is an image of the room I am re making. I picked this one because in the game a very pivotal scene happens here. I am making the non destroyed one first. The ref I have is of it destroyed so I am using my creativity to un-destroy it

If I am going to be honest. its been awhile since I have done really any work. I have fell into a slump. In June of this year I watched my Grandfather pass away right in front of my eyes. Since then I have been slowly declining. Being rejected for every job I apply for has taken its toll on me. Recently I have been playing way to much World of Warcraft and have developed a severe anxiety disorder. A few days ago my internet began acting up, the only thing I could do on my pc was boot up Maya or Z-Brush. I found a concept online and began my newest project. I have been working a few hours each day on it. I use to work 12+ on my work every day. Something good happened I was just on WoW and I was bored and all I could think about was this project. I find myself now on my blog making my first post in months. I applied for another job yesterday out of the blue. While I was overlooking my cover letter I have realized I lost the fire I use to have. I need to get it back at all costs. This is what I love, this is what I do. It feels good to be home again. No matter what life brings us there is always an end to it. I am hoping that the light in the tunnel I see is the end of mine. I will post some pictures of my new project. As-well as a rock painting I did.
